Drawing Agency LLC is a design and research practice based in New York City founded by Galen Pardee (Assoc. AIA).

Drawing Agency focuses on the material dimensions of the built environment: the legal structures, labor, and logistics that shape our buildings and cities. Designing with these embodied costs in mind, Drawing Agency delivers new interventions when required, collaborates with existing conditions, and questions the future of architectural practice through speculative projects and exhibitions.

Drawing Agency’s work has been published widely and exhibited in the United States and abroad, including the Chicago Architecture Biennal and the Venice Architecture Biennale, and supported by The Ohio State University, Columbia University, and the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts. Built projects are completed and underway in New York, California, and Colorado.

Director Galen Pardee teaches at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation, as well as Sarah Lawrence College where he is the Andrew Mellon Chair for Sustainable Design and Environmental Architecture.

Previously, he was the 2019-2021 LeFevre Emerging Practitioner Fellow at The Ohio State University’s Knowlton School of Architecture, and has taught architecture and landscape architecture studios at Barnard University and the University of Tennessee. Galen holds a Masters in Architecture from Columbia University GSAPP where he received the Alpha Rho Chi Medal, and a BA in Politics cum laude from Brandeis University.
